Speaker Profile:

John Mac Namara joined FedEx Express in March 2017 as Manager of Leadership Development and Manger of the Global Leadership Institute. He is responsible for the strategy, technology and programs that support the training and development of leaders and aspiring leaders at every level of leadership throughout FedEx Express global operations.

John is an experienced leader in multiple industries, in multiple countries spanning multinationals, small caps and start-ups. A successful entrepreneur with first-hand experience of the entire business development process from concept to divestiture, John has a track record of success in growing companies. Early in his career, he was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Internet Certification Institute International (ICII) in 1997.

He conceptualized the Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) certification program - a vendor-neutral, job-role based professional IT credential that become a global standard of competency for Internet professionals recognized by IT industry leaders such as IBM, Novell, Intel, HP and Skillsoft. He created and grew the CIW Authorized Training Partner network to over 2,000 training providers in 90 countries - the largest IT training partner network in the world. In 1998, ICII was acquired by ProsoftTraining.com, a US NASDAQ listed company, and John joined the Prosoft Executive Management Team. It was subsequently acquired by VCampus in 2006.

From 2005-2008, John was Training & Support Manager for International Operations with GE Financial Insurance (Genworth Financial) where he played a lead role in the migration of operations in 23 countries from 5 different legacy systems to a new Oracle platform. He created a TIA User Certification Program™.

In 2008-2009, John worked with the University of Limerick to develop a commercialization strategy, and secure funding for a new on-campus incubation center (www.nexusinnovation.ie). In 2010, John worked with Dr. Bob Gallo to help establish the Global Virus Network (http://gvn.org) - a forum for the world’s leading virologists to strengthen medical research and response to new viral pandemic threats. In 2011-2013, John led the turnaround and upgrading of a biodiesel plant in New Jersey.

A business graduate of the University of Limerick in Ireland, John worked with the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva as an Associate Expert on Labor Standards and Management & Enterprise Development. He subsequently created the first centralized global register of certifications to international standards such as ISO 9000 on behalf of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
