With Don Hutson, VP Talent Management, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare & Justin Keeton, Director of Organizational Effectiveness, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare
We invite you to spend the evening with Don Hutson and Justin Keeton as they showcase how Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare worked to establish a Power of One culture.
When Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare assessed their associate engagement levels in 2009, the healthcare system was hovering at the 60th percentile. For this faith based institution, senior leaders knew it was time to embark upon an intentional top-down approach to culture-shaping. Starting in 2010 with their senior leaders, MLH began “unfreezing” and grounding the system in concepts founded on Kurt Lewin’s behavioral change model. At the heart of MLH’s culture shaping work is Senn Delaney’s two-day workshop called “Unfreeze.” To sustain the culture concepts beyond the workshop, Hutson and Keeton, along with several others, created a system wide service philosophy, expanded system orientation to expound upon Unfreeze concepts and integrated shared culture language in everything the organization does. Join us as we learn best practices and lessons learned on shifting organizational culture to drive performance excellence.
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is a $1.9 billion, not-for-profit faith-based integrated healthcare system with five adult hospitals and one pediatric hospital, employing approximately 13,000 associates in the mid-south area. At MLH, we recognize the Power of One. The Power of One Culture that permeates our organization is deeply rooted in the wisdom of our founders who understood that each of us has the power to make a difference in the care of our patients. In 2010 we embarked on a purposeful culture shaping journey that is now deeply rooted in how we care for our patients and for each other. Learn how as an organization we intentionally raised our associate engagement scores from the 60th percentile in 2010, to the 95th percentile since 2014.
