Emotional Intelligence: What It Is, Why You Want It!

Presented by

Judy Bell, PHR, Judy Bell Consulting

An important component of leadership involves personal awareness as well as Emotional Intelligence (EQ). Our effectiveness in life is in constant motion. What was successful yesterday or last year may not be successful today. Success is a “living and breathing” habit. Success habits are fluid and we must be able to assess and “grow with the flow” of changing situations. EQ is often called the “advanced common sense” and is not a sideline or “soft” issue. EQ is not a “touchy feel-y” skill but rather an important skill in understanding self and relating to others. There are direct connections between an employee’s level of EQ and their productivity. Working effectively with others in the organization is one of the most valued skills that companies are seeking today.

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the foundation we need to make the most of our unique talent in our personal and professional lives.

We will talk about:

  • What EQ is.
  • What EQ is NOT…
  • And How to Get More of it!
