Two Programs in One

In an ongoing effort to bring you the highest quality and relevant professional development experiences around timely topics, ATD Memphis is excited to announce that we will be hosting noted thought leader, author, speaker and trainer, Jane Bozarth. She will lead a 2-1/2 hour social media workshop before lunch, then speak about creating engaging eLearning with PowerPoint after lunch. Please plan on joining us for both of these informative and valuable sessions! LUNCH IS PROVIDED.

Using Social Media for Learning

Effective use of social media technologies such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, blogs, wikis, etc., can help to enhance and extend workplace training and learning efforts. With much of the current talk on social media and social learning occurring at the 50,000 foot level, training and learning professionals report that it offers few ideas for application to their work. This session takes a 100-foot view of concrete, specific uses for using social media tools to enhance and extend existing training programs.

Social Media for Trainers (Jane Bozarth)Practice using social media tools to support and extend learning - engage in activities such as openers, quick-answer, reflective work, quiz games, and photo-based work. Go beyond the bounds of traditional T&D practice to the realm of informal and social learning, and take away supplemental guidelines for supporting change.

During this workshop, we will give away THREE copies of Social Media for Trainers, which the author will sign for you after the session.

Create Engaging eLearning with PowerPoint

1 HOUR

Effective, engaging eLearning programs can be created with nothing more than PowerPoint and some creativity. You'll look at ways of eliminating bullet-based content and replacing it with a meaningful treatment, making better use of art and animations, and incorporating solid instructional design principles to support development of good online training.
