eLearning Solutions: Tools and Best Practices
For years now, eLearning has been a solution for organizations to support their business goals, improve performance, increase productivity, and reduce the overall cost of knowledge transfer. When planning for the design and development of an eLearning course, there are many things to consider. As Instructional Designers, we are rightfully concerned with the learning outcomes, objectives, materials, assessments, authoring tools, etc., while the technical teams are focused on methods for deployment, such as bandwidth, configuration, SCORM/AICC conformations, etc.
But how do we ensure the end product meets the expectations of our stakeholders and the target audience and provides a rich, engaging, and effective learning experience?
- Have we conducted a proper needs assessment?
- Do we have clear and measurable performance objectives?
- Do we have a way to effectively measure success of the training?
- Do we have the right tools and resources to support our vision?
- Are there new and better tools out there?
- Have we considered the technical requirements of our LMS in the design?
- Do we have a testing strategy in place?
- Have we planned our evaluation early in the process?
This presentation will focus on the tools, best practices, and how to leverage these resources to make informed decisions and ensure your eLearning meets the demands of your organization and provides a memorable, engaging, and effective learning solution for your audience.
